VOODOO RADIO
Voodoo Radio are about to throw you into orbit with the release of their debut 10” mini-album, POP PILLS, a collection of eight self-penned songs of pure relentless power. The Cumbrian pair, consisting of daughter- singer/drummer Paige and dad -guitarist, Tony now reside between Ulverston and Hammersmith are also announcing the release of their first single, SPACE GIRL available on 1st October 2021.
They started rocking the tunnels of Leicester Square tube station, London in 2018, stopping commuters and tourists alike in their tracks with their classic ‘summer of ‘76’ power-pop sound bringing to mind Blondie, The Ramones, The Damned & The Ruts. Throw in some Transvision Vamp, sneak in some Stray Cats, and finally some classic Eddie Van Halen guitar sounds and you’re getting into the heart of Voodoo Radio.
The duo deliver irresistibly infectious two and a half minute pop songs, fuelled by Paige’s relentless drumming and dynamic vocal charm. Layer this with her unique ’cut through the ice’ lyrics and Tony’s outrageous guitar style taking you back to the days when there was no shame in delivering an epic Slash/Angus Young guitar solo.
