Todmorden’s voltaic trio leave their enigmatic hinterland for their debut gig live at the legendary Hope & Anchor, Islington. Callis capture a curious chemistry at once vocally melodic and mystical, joined with kaleidoscopic riffs and elemental rhythms. This inaugeral show is not to be missed.
Callis’ fresh single, Dramaskin, was recorded at the innovative Holy Mountain Studios in Hackney, and eminates compulsively magnetic melodies, foundational basslines and tempestuous drumming.
Dean Molyneux (lead vocals, guitar), Bryn Davies (backing vocals, bass) and Tyler Hanley (drums) originate from a series of alternative music projects that bring to Callis a new wave approach befitting the Calder Valley’s countercultural legacy.
Callis: a new valley sound, forged within the chambers of a repurposed spinning mill burrowed beneath moorland fells.
