York’s Misfortune Cookie bring punk tunes with grown-up themes and the majestic Helen Chambers on vox. The Charlemagnes and Councillors Cox & Evans support.
Misfortune Cookie‘s Heavy Seas (Everything Sux)was Crossroads of Progress’s favourite record of 2019. But the pandemic happened, so it didn’t get the chance to change the world. So now they’re going out on the road, giving it that chance. Come down to the Hope & Anchor and witness the change. It’s their only London show on the tour, and will be fantastic. Crossroads of Progress house band The Charlemagnes will be on just before them, and opening the proceedings will be Councillors Cox and Evans with a pair of acoustic guitars. They’re both legends of the scene (Shutdown, Travis Cut, Diaz Brothers) and have beautiful singing voices. Like angels.
