We are excited to present superb Swindon/Reading touring rock band TALK IN CODE for a long awaited London show with special guests. Our chosen venue is Hope and Anchor, which has consistently remained on of the best grassroots independent venues in the capital, combining an iconic history with an intimate and raw live music experience. This lineup – featuring a glorious selection of rock, alt, indie and pop – is not to be missed!
TALK IN CODE
Once described as ‘The 1975 with a huge dollop of Duran Duran’, the band’s sound oozes energy with pure dance-ability combing thumping rythms, vibrant synths, shimmering guitars and soaring vocals all geared to get the most sceptic feet moving! 2022 saw TIC sign to London independent – Regent Street Records. The label was founded by the now president of Virgin Music UK – Vanessa Bosaen. The band has released 3 singles under its banner, accumulating over 300k streams with songs added to over 500 playlists including editorials on Apple Music, Soundcloud and FLO. Produced by Sam Winfield at Studio 91 (The Amazons, Amber Run, Fickle Friends, Bring Me The Horizon), ‘The Big Screen’ is the band’s 3rd album release. Live is where the band’s true strength lies appearing alongside household names such as Years & Years, Scouting For Girls, The Feeling, My Life Story and Nik Kershaw. TIC has also enjoyed festival appearances at Victorious, Wychwood, Lechlade and Jurassic Fields and more.

THE AJM SHOW
SEVEN SPIES
Formed in London by childhood friends, Seven Spies are an indie/alt, rock band looking to in- filtrate the ears of the world. Consisting of David Blomiley (vocals, guitar, piano) and Olly Brown (drums, backing vocals), you can expect to witness a healthy dose of melodic riffs, fuzzy guitars and anthemic choruses. Fusing the best of rock bands such as Muse and Radiohead, while high- lighting vocals reminiscent of Jeff Buckley, as well as Billie Eilish’s use of intimate multi-tracking, this amalgam of diverse artists and influences allows Seven Spies to carve out a pocket of sound that is entirely their own.
PENNY EAU
Hailed as one of BBC Introducing Merseyside’s 2022 Highlights, alternative and atmospheric singer/songwriter Penny Eau has been steeped in music as a form of healing, expression and escapism all her life. Born in the US and attending Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, she’s seen success as not only an artist but a writer, vocalist and producer. She has had radio support on BBC 6 and Norway’s NRK P3 for her debut single Lavender & Gasoline. Her cover of ‘New York, New York’ with Daemon and Zech Biship was featured in the Shonda Rhimes-helmed Netflix miniseries “Inventing Anna” and original ‘honeymoonlight’ has been placed in The CW’s All-American Homecoming. Anna has released her debut this month, made alongside many notable producers including Oscar Neidhardt (Thirty Seconds To Mars, EMELINE) and H.A.O (2 Chainz, The Isley Brothers).
“With harmonious backing vocals layering underneath the artist’s syrupy tone, listeners will instantly be lulled into a warm-toned and calming trance.” — Wonderland
