The Somber Sessions is a monthly showcase of incredibly talented Artists & Bands & everything in between!
This month we present:
Menaura – Menaura is a London-based shoegaze/art rock group of European musicians, brought together by the need to create beautiful sounds that provide an intense escape for the listeners. The band was formed in 2020, comprising a mix of members from Sweden, Poland, Norway, England and Italy. With influences from Deafheaven, Radiohead, Alcest and Slowdive, their music combines energetic hooks with ambient, dreamy soundscapes. Inspired by dynamic Scandinavian landscapes and rainy English nostalgia, Menaura’s lyrical themes include existential insecurity, search for purpose and spirituality.
Cora Rebel – Cora Rebel is a compelling singer and songwriter inspired by Holly Humberstone, Orla Gartland & Griff. Known for her lyrically driven songs and rich, layered productions, she connects deeply with a YA audience. Her debut EP, Room For Wonder, marked her arrival, and her new EP, Small Town Murder, delves deeper into themes of mental health and resilience. Cora’s next single, 20 Forever, is eagerly anticipated. Currently, she’s focused on opening for Jaz Beeson on July 18th, collaborating with her producer Conor and musician Emily Sera, bringing an exciting new live music setup to her performance.
Heff Van Saint – Heff VanSaint is a Scottish alternative indie artist, based in East London. Known for her electrifying live performances and unique brand of storytelling, she creates music thats angsty yet hopeful. Combining elements of pop, electronic and indie with 80s influences, VanSaint’s music traverses the liminal space between frank honesty and hopeful optimism, with the songwriter interested in exploring environments that challenge fixed definitions, exploring the inherent messiness of being human.
